WACO (June 19, 2013)—A Waco woman was taken to a local hospital Wednesday morning after she jumped from her bicycle just before it was hit by a concrete truck.

The woman, said to be in her 20s, just before 7 a.m. was riding along University Parks Drive at Franklin Avenue when police say she ignored a crosswalk signal and rode into the path of a concrete delivery truck.

An officer at the scene said she jumped from her bicycle just before the two collided.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center suffering from non-life threatening injuries.

The bicycle ended up under the front tires of the truck and was destroyed.
