Shooting In Local Neighborhood Leaves Man In Critical Condition

Police were looking for a gunman Thursday after a shooting in a local neighborhood that left a 28-year-old man in critical condition.

KILLEEN (June 27, 2013)—Killeen police were searching for a gunman Thursday after a shooting in a local neighborhood that left a 28-year-old man in critical condition.

The shooting was reported at around 6:20 a.m. Thursday in the area of Murphy and Mimosa Streets.

Officers found the victim in the 900 block of Mimosa.

He was taken to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center.

Investigators have determined that the man, whose name was not immediately released, was walking in the area when someone in a vehicle fired several shots and then drove off.

The victim ran toward a vacant apartment on Mimosa, which is where officers found him.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (254) 526-TIPS.
