BELTON (July 19, 2013)—A jury Friday in Belton returned a guilty verdict in the capital murder trial of Chance Keller, 25, who was charged in the Feb. 26, 2012 murder of Stephen Wright, 20.

Wright was found shot to death on the front porch of his home in Belton.

Jurors deliberated for four hours and 10 minutes before returning the verdict.

Prosecutors weren’t seeking the death penalty, so Keller was automatically sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Keller was jailed in Waco charged in an unrelated robbery that happened a few days after Wright was killed when he was served with the arrest warrant for the murder.
