(June 26, 2008)—The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is distributing information nationwide in the search for a suspect in the murders of two girls whose bullet-riddled bodies were found on a rural road after they failed to return home from a walk on June 8.
Investigators released a sketch on June 13 of a man who was seen standing near a white pickup at about the same time and in about the same place as the murders of Taylor Dawn Paschal-Placker, 13, and Skyla Jade Whitaker, 11.
The two girls were shot repeatedly on a dirt road in Okfuskee County, Okla. after setting out on a walk to a bridge near Placker’s rural home that was a popular hangout for young people.
Placker’s grandfather found their bodies.
On Wednesday, a dog trained by the ATF to detect traces of gunpowder was used to search the area where the bodies were found.
The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
The bureau is asking anyone with information to call (800) 522-8017.
