(June 27, 2008)—Police Friday released surveillance photos of the armed man wearing an armored vest who held up the Subway restaurant Saturday on Highway 77 in Robinson.

The robber struck just before 3 p.m. Saturday.

Witnesses told police he brandished what appeared to be a nine-millimeter semiautomatic pistol and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was hurt.

A canine team joined a search of an adjoining neighborhood after the robbery, but without success.

The robber was described as a white man, wearing a tan shirt, dark cargo pants, a bulletproof vest and a dark cap.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Robinson police department at (254) 662-0525.

I agree with Jake, nice Second Chance Body Armor there, looks like he had an idea that there could be a gun on the receiving end of this crime. A bigger picture might be better also.

This robber wears very distinctive clothing. Photo enhancement would help to identify this man. Perhaps he was or is in a security type job.

And some people don't think that a law abiding person should be able to carry a gun. The crooks have them and bullet proof vest. He will be out there again until he meets up with the wrong person or the law.
