(June 27, 2008)—Timothy Smith, 44, was in the Bosque County Jail Friday, charged with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the kidnapping and rape of a Central Texas real estate agent.

The charges stem from an incident on Wednesday in which the agent went to meet a man who said he wanted to list his late parents’ home for sale.

The man kidnapped the woman, tied her up and blindfolded her, drove her to his house and forced her to call relatives for ransom.

He also raped her, authorities said.

Family members contacted the Bosque County Sheriff’s Office, which in turn requested a helicopter from the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office.

The helicopter pilot spotted the realtor’s vehicle at the first residence, but there was no trace of the woman.

Later another man flagged a deputy down and said he had come home early and had found a woman in the house.

The woman turned out to be the kidnapped real estate agent.

The man told officers his roommate had taken his pickup.

Deputies arrested Smith a short time later.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and later released.

Just hand them the key and stay in the office. Or better yet, let them know you are armed just in case they get any ideas. In this day and time. I agree, this has become a very dangerous profession and you never know who is a nut case.

Regardless of whether it was rape or sexual assault, this creep got joy from terrifying an innocent woman. No punishment is too severe. He needs to be locked up. I wonder how many more have suffered at his hands. GET HIM OFF THE STREETS!

I'm just glad it wasn't an illegal mexican. The uproar would be ten-fold.

to anonymous in whitney u sound like a part of his family or close friend. to cojo and anonymous what does this scum's ex-girlfriend and her children have to do with what this psychopath did? sounds like a little trying of the passing the blame game going on. what this woman did or didn't do has NOTHING to do with this topic of discussion or what this pervert did.

most of the tv stations reported wrong. they report what they want to hear. Channel 25 reported correctly. Just bc it says sexual assault it doesn't automatically mean rape. It can be anything from touching to the actual penetration of any object and/or body part. I can only hope that he gets violated the way he violated her. I believe in corporal punishment!!!

Posted by: anonymous Location: whitney on Jul 1, 2008 at 08:25 AM
I also know this piece of crap, but also know that the woman you were speaking of didn't loose her children because of "him". All she had to do is live by there or even close to see there or even have them with her "BUT" she choose to move to another state with a man she met on the internet !!! THAT is a FACT !! This has nothing to do with what he did or excuse it BUT PLEASE people get your facts straight---the news medium doesn't seem to be. Plus her other kid was 2 blocks from her and she wouldn't go see him, hadn't for 4 years. Again get your facts right.

I actually know this piece of crap. He has already served 16 years in prison, he ruined the life of a woman I knew and she has since lost all of her children because of him, he also spent another year for injury to his own child. Now I agree with the one that said Hang him up but not by the groin, that wouldn't finish the job.

several news report said that the sheriff hasn't even talked to her after she was in the hospital. wouldn't a "rape" kit or DNA be done in the hospital. There were several statements that didn't make sense.

Sexual assault & rape charges may indeed be different, but the article and other articles on other news websites all state the woman was also raped. Are they reporting false information?

Posted by: Tina Location: Belton on Jun 30, 2008 at 09:04 AM
He also raped her, authorities said. Wouldn't that mean that he raped her?

Posted by: anon Location: waco on Jun 30, 2008 at 08:56 AM
Then why does it specifically say he raped her?

Posted by: victim advocate Location: texas on Jun 30, 2008 at 08:52 AM
"Rape" is no longer used in the Texas Penal Code. What we all know to be rape is now referred to as "Aggravated sexual assault". Check with your local Rape Crisis Center.

there is a difference in sexual assault and actual rape. im going with anonymous on this one because he/she is right. that doesnt make what this scumbag did right at all, but once again the news wasnt delivered correctly. people always believe what they hear on the news, when in fact, half of the story is wrong. she was sexually assaulted, but she was not raped. not that one is any better than the other, but thats the facts.

Posted by: Joe Location: Temple on Jun 29, 2008 at 02:13 PM
I am so happy that we have such a smart person in Bosque County by the name of annonymous to clarify the differnce between rape and sexually assaulted. He must be related to Bill Clinton. He did not sex with that women either.

Posted by: Anonymous Location: bosque county resident on Jun 28, 2008 at 03:46 PM
I would just like to clarify that the young lady was not raped. She was sexually assaulted. For those of you who are not familiar witht he penal code there is a difference. And before i get yelled at I am not saying that to justify what he did. I am simply clearing it up. He should still rot in jail for as long as he lives for what he did to that woman.

even if the penalty fits the crime...we're going to have depraved people on the streets...he needs to be treated the way he treated her...an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth...hang him up by his member and let it dry up and rot off...Perverts have always been a part of society...read your Bibles

I hope they cut his member off! I live in Valley Mills, Tx and now this makes me scared for my daughter and yng son! This country better get its priorities straight and I mean FAST or we will all become victims of sick people like this...I just pray this is not a realtor I know or have done business with......Whomever she is I will continue to pray for her and her family!!!

Posted by: Leann Location: Hubbard on Jun 27, 2008 at 08:36 PM
Until the penalty fits the crime we will continue to have deprave people out on our streets. Thank God this one was caught! Now, if only our justice system will do something with him. HE SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY RIGHTYS.

I piggyback what Jennifer is saying. Use a buddy system, let people know where you are, trust your instincts. And always have an exit plan. Really this goes for anyone, just that real estate agents can be very soft targets due to the nature in which they do busines. Be smart and be careful.

I am a realtor as well and I try to call several people before I go out to list or show property. I also take pepper spray, and most of the time another co-worker with me. That is why it is better to meet clients at your office first - get copy of drivers license, then go and show and never take them in your car and now dont even go out alone.

Posted by: null Location: texas on Jun 27, 2008 at 01:25 PM
I would have had a gun and shot him.

Posted by: Anonymous on Jun 27, 2008 at 12:56 PM
It's really sad folks can't trust anyone any more, but Iam almost sure she will never be able to trust anyone ever again. Very sad!

I am a local realtor and this makes me sick to my stomach. Everyday we go out to provide a service to the community and no matter how hard we try to be aware of our surroundings these psychos are out there exploiting our vulnerability. It's a sick, twisted world we live in. My thoughts and prayers are with the victim. The bas*ard that did this deserves no mercy! To all my fellow realtors out there, protect yourself and always be aware of your surroundings. This could happen to any one of us!

This is absolutely terrifying. I work in Real Estate in Waco Texas and you hear of these stories floating around at national news levels. But to hear about something so close to home is not comforting. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family; I am so sorry something this sick happend.
