Man Shot In Fight After Disarming Would-Be Robber

Police were looking for two men Tuesday after an attempted robbery in a local neighborhood during which the victim was shot after disarming one of the would-be robbers.

KILLEEN (September 17, 2013 0—Police were searching Tuesday for two men involved in a robbery attempt in a Killeen neighborhood during which the victim was shot in a fight after disarming one of the would-be robbers.

The two men were also armed with a pipe, police said.

The shooting was reported in the 4400 block of Alan Kent Drive.

The victim, an unidentified man, was taken to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center where he was reported to be in surgery.

Killeen police spokeswoman Carroll Smith said officers were looking for two black men, one wearing a dark-colored shirt and camouflage pants, the other wearing a light-colored shirt and camouflage pants.

A witness told police the suspects fled on foot from the back of the house.
