Scores of women from New Orleans and the surrounding area were on Capitol Hill Monday, going office by congressional office, urging members not to forget the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The group called Women of the Storm is asking Congress to approve legislation which would allow the hurricane disaster zone to share in a portion of the revenue generated by oil and gas
drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.

Spokeswoman Anne Milling says the women's group is also asking for long-term assistance for the more than 200,000 home and business owners who saw their property heavily damaged or destroyed by Katrina.

Milling says very few members of Congress have actually seen, first-hand, the hurricane's devastation.

Women of the Storm is offering members a 36-hour all-inclusive trip to New Orleans.
