A long list of dignitaries including the President and First Lady is expected to attend funeral services Tuesday for Coretta Scott King.

The widow of slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. died a week ago in a Mexican alternative health clinic where she was battling ovarian cancer and the effects of a stroke and heart attack.

Services will be held Tuesday at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Ga. where King’s daughter, Bernice, is one of the ministers.

A public viewing was scheduled early Tuesday morning at the church.

King will be buried next to her husband at the King Center in Atlanta.

King’s body laid in state Saturday in the state Capitol in Atlanta.

On Monday there was a public viewing at Ebenezer Baptist Church, at which Martin Luther King, Jr. and his father served as co-pastors.

There was also a music tribute Monday at the church.

King was a musician when she met Martin Luther King, Jr., who went on to galvanize the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y. and talk show host Oprah Winfrey are among those who will speak during the service Tuesday.
President Bush, who delayed a trip to New Hampshire in order to attend the funeral, is also expected to make remarks.

Coretta King worked closely behind the scenes with her husband as she raised the couple’s four children and throughout her life remained a force in the civil rights movement as she served as caretaker for her late husband’s legacy.

Flags will fly at half-staff Tuesday in Texas in King’s honor, Gov. Rick Perry ordered.

"Mrs. Coretta Scott King was a lifelong leader in the civil rights movement," Perry said.

"She worked alongside her husband, Martin Luther King, Jr., to advance the cause of freedom, and after his untimely passing, she did not pause in her efforts to fight for economic and social justice. She honored her husband's legacy everyday, and today we honor her own proud legacy. As a mark of respect for the memory of this outstanding American, it seems fitting that all flags on display and under the control of the State of Texas be flown at half-staff on the day of her interment,” he said.
