KILLEEN (October 17, 2013)—A Killeen woman suffered what police called extremely serious injuries Thursday morning in a stabbing and another woman is in custody awaiting charges.
Police officers were sent at about 4:45 a.m. to the emergency room at Metroplex Hospital where a 22-year-old woman was being treated for serious stab wounds, Killeen police spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez said.
Initial investigation led police to an address in the 600 block of Ace. K, where the victim told them she had been involved in an argument with another woman that quickly escalated into a physical altercation.
Miramontez said the suspect fled the scene but officers later arrested her.
The victim lived in the area of the incident, Miramontez said
The suspect was being held in the Killeen City Jail awaiting formal charges from the Bell County District Attorney’s office and transfer to the Bell County Jail.
Neither woman was named.
The victim later was flown by helicopter to Scott & White Hospital, in Temple, with life-threatening wounds, Miramontez said.
