1st Cavalry Division Gains Helicopter Battalion Friday

The 1st Air Cavalry Brigade welcomes a new helicopter battalion during a ceremony Friday at Fort Hood.

The 4th Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment is a certified AH-64D Apache Longbow battalion.

The unit comes to Fort Hood from Germany’s 1st Armored Division.

The ceremony marks the official activation of the battalion into the 1st Cavalry Division brigade.
