(July 3, 2008)--An attack recorded with a cell phone video camera has led to charges against two female high school students in Michigan.
The two are accused of aggravated assault and if they’re convicted, they could get as much as a year in a juvenile detention facility, and could be fined as much as $1,000.
The two are allegedly seen on video beating a classmate June 10 at their high school in Wayland, Mich.
The tape was posted on the Internet after school let out.
Police say the victim told them that she thought it was about her sexual orientation.
The report says the two were upset over the girl's public displays of affection.
One of the suspects has been expelled, and the other has moved out of the school district.
Police say the victim suffered bruises.
