WACO (January 9, 2014) Police Identify Suspects In Wednesday Motel Robbery
Waco police have released the identities of a man and a woman arrested Wednesday in connection with a robbery at a local motel.
Melissa Mae Ragsdale, 42, was ordered held on bonds totaling $55,000, charged with robbery and failure to identify herself as a fugitive.
She also was ordered held without bond on two felony warrants out of Tarrant County for burglary of a habitation and bail jumping.
Chadrick Jason Sinks, 40, was ordered held on bonds totaling $155,000, charged with robbery and failure to identify himself as a fugitive.
As well, Sinks is held on a $100,000 bond on one Tarrant County warrant and without bond on a second warrant out of Tarrant County.
Police were sent just after noon to the Red Roof Inn, on Martin Luther King Boulevard at Interstate 35 where a man reported he had been robbed while in a room.
Police said the victim reported he had gone to the hotel after the promise of sex with a woman he spoke with on an internet page.
While the victim was in the woman's room, a man came out of the closet and attacked him.
The victim told officers he handed over his money and a sandwich then fled the room.
Shortly after officers arrived they spoke with the motel manager and gained access to another room where they took a man and a woman into custody.
Police said the robber did not use a weapon but the victim did suffer injuries to his face..
It was the second such incident this week.
The last happened in Bellmead and police say the two are not connected.
