CHINA SPRING (January 9, 2014) Richard Tanner Ozment, 25, was named in seven indictments Wednesday charging him with burglaries of homes and churches in China Spring.
The indictments included two for burglary of a habitation and five for burglary of a building, the grand jury list showed.
McLennan County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ozment October 18 on a warrant charging him with three counts of burglary.
He had been arrested the day before on a warrant charging failure to register as a sex offender but had posted bond and been released.
Four different churches and several homes were broken into in China Spring over a three-week period in September and October 2013, McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara said.
Within a week of his arrest for the initial burglaries, he was named in four additional burglary counts, records showed.
