LACY LAKEVIEW (January 21, 2014) A Lacy Lakeview man pleaded guilty Tuesday to an injury to a child charge that grew out of a sexual assault of a child last January.

Judge Ralph Strother sentenced Navar Jamal Sablan, 26, to serve six years deferred probation and pay an undetermined fine after Sablan pleaded guilty to injury to a child.

Lacy Lakeview police Chief John Truehitt said officers arrested Sablan last January on a warrant issued by McLennan County Justice of the Peace David Puryea.

Truehitt said the incident occurred in early January, 2013 at a Lacy Lakeview residence.

Truehitt said the 16-year-old female victim made an outcry to her parents after the assault and police were notified after a Child Protective Services worker interviewed the girl.

According to the police report the victim did not require medical attention for injuries.
