(July 11, 2008)--A former Plano minister accused of trying to solicit sex from what he thought was a 13 year-old girl has bonded out of the Brazos County jail, and has been transferred to Louisiana.
Joe Barron, 52, was jailed for a second time in Brazos County last month after he was named in four new complaints charging online solicitation of a minor,
Two other counts from Louisiana accused him of computer solicitation for sex.
Barron posted $60,000 bond on the four new charges Thursday afternoon, and then was transferred to Louisiana to face the two counts filed in that state.
Caddo Parish officials said his bond was set at $12,684 on each of the two charges.
He bonded out of the Caddo Parish jail later Thursday.
At the time of his second arrest in June, Barron was free on bond from his first arrest in May in Brazos County.
He was arrested in May after police said he drove more than three hours from Plano to Bryan to meet what he thought was a 13-year-old girl he had met over the Internet.
The girl was actually a Bryan police officer.
Inside his car alongside a hymnal, officers found a box of condoms and a Web camera, which police say they think was intended as a present for the teenage girl Barron expected to meet.
He was later released after posting $7,000 bond.
Before his first arrest, Barron was a minister at the 28,000-member Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano
