Search For Buried Fetus Ends Save Email Print

(July 11, 2008)--Dirt taken from the suburban Houston backyard where a teenage girl's 5-month-old fetus was allegedly buried will be analyzed for evidence of human remains, investigators said.

The fetus was allegedly buried a month ago in the backyard of the Galena Park home of the 16-year-old girl’s mother.

The search ended Thursday without the recovery of a corpse.

Galena Park Police Chief Robert Pruett said the teen told officers her mother demanded an abortion in June after discovering the pregnancy.

The girl allegedly told police her mother gave her drugs to end the pregnancy, and then buried the fetus after it was born.

No criminal charges have been filed.

Pruett said cadaver dogs detected a scent while searching for the corpse in the backyard of the girl's suburban Houston home.

Pruett says dirt from that area will be examined by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

Do we really know all the facts? Or is Robert Pruett, trying to sensationalizing the story for his own political gain? I am former 14 year police vet, who spoke to the Harris County DA regarding Robert Pruett. The DA office has investigated him for perjury, tampering with evidence and violating the rights of a prisoner. Testimony during a trial showed that Robert destroyed a recording of the interrogation, and that he had “deputized” the suspect.. The appellate court seems think perjury occurred here are excerpts from the court ruling: “Evidence that police obtained the suspects confession in violation of his rights..”, “…confession was improperly obtained by the police." “Evidence of violations of his rights." “…the evidence of suspects illegally obtained confession…” The DA didn’t pursue charges against Robert,in order to keep their case intact. Death penalty could only be sought in 1 of 6 cases because of Robert’s actions. We may never know the truth, because Robert was involved.

Shelly, you need to go back to school to relearn grammar and spelling. You might also want to look into reading programs as well because you can't read either. Check out MCC they have night classes.

Why would you want them to "stick it to the both of them" if the girl was forced to do it it's not her fault. It even sounds like the girl came forward to the police for help.

What is wrong with that girls mother? I could never do that to a poor defenseless baby. Doesn't she know that baby probably felt everything that they did to it. That was a human being. Have they ever heard of adoption. I was a adopted because my mom wasn't able to take care of me, but still wanted me to have a great life. She also had me at an early age. What is wroing with the people in this world today? Both mom and daughter murdered that baby.
