TEMPLE (February 13, 2014) Temple police were investigating an assault and vehicle theft Thursday after a victim reported he had been beaten, his car stolen and then returned after it was wrecked.

Police were sent at about 9:50 a.m. Tuesday to an address in the 5300 block of Trailview Drive where they met with a man who said he had been attacked and assaulted by two men.

Officers reported the victim had injuries to his face.

The victim also said the two attackers took his car and fled the scene.

A short time later the car re-appeared in the victim’s driveway with the keys inside, but it had been wrecked, Temple police Cpl. Christopher Wilcox said.

Wilcox said Temple police were notified at about the same time of a hit-and-run accident in the 4800 block of 205 Loop.

The incidents remain under investigation, Wilcox said.
