LORENA (February 17, 2014) A family of five was displaced after a Monday morning house fire but no one was hurt and firefighters were able to save their pets.
Fire crews from Lorena and others departments were sent at about 7:30 a.m. to an address in the 4000 block of Box Ranch Road after a caller reported a fire in the mobile home there.
Only two girls were home at the time of the fire, but both were able to escape without injury, a family member said.
Firefighters also were able to save three cats and a dog who were inside the mobile home.
The woman who lives in the home said she had trouble with a breaker box earlier in the morning and she suspected that was the cause of the blaze, although firefighters had not made a determination.
It was not known if the mobile home will be classified as a total loss, but one firefighter said it is not in habitable condition now.
