The search effort was concentrated in an area just south of the Walgreen’s between the Depot apartments and the back side of the Hewitt Walmart store along a railroad track.

Police were also searching backyards along the tracks.

A news release issued by Woodway police said officers were sent to the store at around 4:45 a.m. Friday in response to a burglar alarm.

The officers found a burglary in progress when they arrived and after a short foot chase took two people into custody.

Officers used a Taser to subdue one of the two, police said.

One officer received minor injuries, but no further details were provided.

A News 10 reporter outside the Walgreen’s at Woodway and Estates Drives said for a time the store was circled with crime scene tape and customers were not allowed to go inside.

Smashed glass from the entry door was visible on the sidewalk in front of the store.

By 8 a.m. the crime scene tape had been removed, the broken glass cleaned up and the store had opened for business.
