MCGREGOR (March 4, 2014) Two people were injured Tuesday morning in a one-vehicle crash on an icy Central Texas highway.
The accident happened just after 7:45 a.m. along U.S. Highway 84 at Stone Creek Ranch Road, just east of McGregor.
Waco police and fire units from both Waco and McGregor were sent to the scene where it was reported someone was trapped in the wreckage of a car.
A man and a woman were taken from the car and then taken by ambulance to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, in Waco, for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, a state trooper at the scene said.
A Department of Public Safety trooper was investigating the accident and said the car was westbound on U.S. 84 when it struck a patch of ice.
The driver lost control of the car, which left the roadway and crashed.
