Rural Central Texas Home Destroyed In Overnight Fire

No one was injured Tuesday night in a house firer that left a rural McLennan County home destroyed.

MCLENNAN COUNTY (March 5, 2014) A rural Central Texas home was destroyed overnight by a raging fire but no one was injured.

Firefighters from several departments, including Axtell, Leroy and Elk, were sent to a home in the 6800 block of Elk Road just after 10 p.m. after a caller reported a house on fire.

The first units on the scene asked for back up from other departments to provide extra manpower and water.

Firefighters had the fire out by about midnight.

It was not known if the house was occupied at the time of the blaze.

Firefighters have not yet issued a cause for the fire.
