Local Man Shot During Home Invasion

KILLEEN (March 6, 2014) One man was shot during what police were calling a home invasion early Thursday morning in Killeen and police were looking for the three robbers involved in the incident.

Shortly after midnight Thursday morning a group of four men were inside a garage at a home in the 3900 block of Jake Spoon Drive playing video games.

At some point another group of three armed men wearing masks burst into the garage through a partially opened door and ordered the gamers onto the floor and demanded their valuables.

One of the men at the party began struggling with the gunmen and was shot twice with what police believe was a shotgun.

The wounded man was taken by ambulance to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center and was later transferred to Scott & White Hospital, in Temple, with what police called non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say no one else was hurt.

The robbers made off in an unknown direction with cash and cell phones.

They remained at large Thursday morning.
