(March 21, 2006)-- Austin's South by Southwest 20th anniversary edition has closed after about 1,400 musical acts jammed performances into four raucous nights.
Arctic Monkeys headed this year’s biggest draws.
The British sensation played one of its first stateside shows on Austin.
Morrissey, whose latest album is out April 4, gave fans a taste of his new material after an arguably more interesting on-stage chat with Rolling Stone's David Fricke.

The Beastie Boys also turned up for an unannounced gig, as did My Chemical Romance.
Crowds flocked to catch the Pretenders, the New Pornographers, Belle and Sebastian, Echo and the Bunnymen, and Spoon.
