Man Injured In Accident On Rural Central Texas Highway

A Central Texas man was injured Thursday morning when his pickup truck skidded on a wet highway and crashed into a tree.

MCLENNAN COUNTY (March 27, 2014) A Riesel man was injured Thursday morning just east of Harrison Switch when the pickup truck he was driving skidded on wet pavement and crashed into a tree.

Department of Public Safety Trooper Jeremy Amis said Timothy Outlaw, 23, of Riesel, was taken by ambulance to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, in Waco, for treatment of injuries he sustained in the crash.

Amis said Outlaw was driving toward Riesel at about 11:30 a.m. when his truck hydroplaned, veered off the roadway and struck a tree alongside State Highway 6.

Outlaw was alone in his pickup when the accident happened.

Amis said Outlaw’s injuries were not life-threatening.
