(March 28, 2006)—Westbound Highway 6 and the loop ramp from the northbound frontage road of Interstate 35 to westbound Highway 6 will be closed from 7 p.m. Tuesday until 7 a.m. Wednesday as crews continue to work on the $40 million Loop 340 interchange project in Waco.
Traffic from westbound Highway 6 will be detoured to the New Road intersection and then back down the southbound Interstate 35 frontage road.
Traffic will be detoured from the loop ramp to New Road.
From 7 p.m. Wednesday until 7 a.m. Thursday and from 7 p.m. Thursday until 7 a.m. Friday the southbound frontage road will be closed and traffic will be detoured to Bagby Avenue and westbound Highway 6 traffic to southbound Interstate 35 will be detoured to Bagby. Southbound Interstate 35 traffic from New Road will also be detoured to Bagby.
The Texas Department of Transportation expects significant traffic congestion and delays on both nights, while crews set beams.
Work on the project continues until the spring of 2007.
