(July 14, 2008)—Rare July storms that fired up Monday, prompting weather advisories for several counties, downed tree limbs in parts of southeastern Bell County, where officials said heavy rain fell Monday afternoon.

Meanwhile urban and small stream flood advisories remained in effect until 5:30 p.m. Monday for Milam County and eastern Navarro County.

Radar estimates indicate that as much as two inches of rain had fallen north of Cameron and another inch to an inch-and-a-half of rain was possible.

The storm producing the heavy rain fired up earlier in the afternoon in southeastern Bell County.

Another storm formed west of Hillsboro just after 1 p.m.

A weather advisory was issued just after 12:30 p.m. for portions of Bosque, Coryell and Hamilton Counties after the National Weather Service detected a strong thunderstorm southeast of Cranfills Gap.

Storms that rumbled through Sunday downed power lines in Hillsboro.

Nickel-size hail was reported at the intersection of Interstate 35 and State Highway 22.

Sunday in McLennan County, 60 mile per hour winds were reported near Northcrest, north of Waco.
