NOLANVILLE (April 8, 2014) Firefighters battled not only fast-moving flames, but a stiff wind Tuesday afternoon as fire raced through a mobile home.
The mobile home was not occupied and had recently been used for storage, Bell County Fire Marshal Steve Casey said.
The fire was reported at about 12:45 p.m. in the 1800 block of Ryan Circle, just south of Farm-to-Market 439.
Firefighters reported they could see thick black smoke coming from the scene as they arrived.
Nolanville firefighters quickly asked for help from Harker Heights because of the wind.
Grass and brush around the mobile home was ablaze as well and firefighters had to race to prevent the grass fire from spreading.
The cause of the blaze had not been determined and was under investigation but initially it was thought to have been accidental, Casey said.
