(July 16, 2008)--A judge in Marshall Wednesday placed 83 rescued dogs with the SPCA of Texas.
The ruling involves dogs removed on July 10 from a property near Lone Star, about 60 miles southwest of Texarkana.
The SPCA says the dogs did not have adequate water or shelter.
Some were sick.
Law enforcement officers helped remove the dogs, which were transported to the Perry Animal Care Center in McKinney.
The SPCA says a woman believed to have been staying at the site was detained, pending an investigation into whether she unlawfully was living in a trailer on the property.
