(July 17, 2008)-Police Thursday released the names of two young boys who were crushed to death when a balcony and second-floor stairwell collapsed as they played hide and seek at a Houston Apartment complex.

Autopsies are scheduled Thursday on 5-year-old Miguel Robledo and 10-year-old David Vasquez, who died in the collapse.

A third boy, age 9, is hospitalized with a broken leg suffered as the balcony and stairwell collapsed Wednesday night at the Westwood Fountains apartment complex just off Beltway 8 near Southwest Freeway in southwestern Houston.

Inspectors with the city's Public Works and Engineering Department were at the scene investigating Thursday.

Houston’s Neighborhood Protection Corps is bringing its own engineers to inspect the building.

Houston Police Department spokesman John Cannon said unstable walls at the complex delayed firefighters efforts to recover the children's bodies from the apartment complex for several hours.

Cannon says the walls had to be knocked down and then firefighters brought in a "large backhoe" to recover their bodies.
