WACO (April 22, 2014) Waco firefighters quickly doused an early Tuesday morning fire in a Northwest Waco vacant building.
The fire at Lake Air Drive and Cole Avenue was reported just after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, said Capt. Shon Cavett, who was acting as assistant fire chief.
Cavett said the building was in the process of being remodeled but did not say who owns the property.
The first units on the scene were able to control the blaze within five minutes, he said.
No one was injured.
Save for an extension cord run inside from a temporary service pole there were no utilities turned on in the building, Cavett said.
He did say there were signs of some sort of explosion inside the building.
Cavett made no estimate of the severity of the damage.
Fire marshals are investigating the fire to determine how it started.
