Suburban Texas Swingers Club Raided Again Save Email Print

A | A | A

(July 23, 2008)—Police have raided a swingers club in suburban Dallas for a second time within a matter of days.

The owners of "The Cherry Pit" in Duncanville are challenging 10 citations, related to operating a sex club and running a sexually oriented business without a license, but a hearing on the challenge Wednesday was postponed because of the second raid by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and Duncanville police Tuesday.

Duncanville spokeswoman Tonya Lewis says the first raid on Saturday turned up an unspecified amount of alcohol, not listed in the initial search warrant.

Authorities then secured a second warrant.

Cherry Pit attorney Ed Klein says he had not even seen an affidavit from Saturday's search, and then on Tuesday "the TABC is busting down doors, having their fun with the place."

Duncanville leaders last fall adopted an ordinance that bans sex clubs.

Klein then sued, followed by the city's countersuit seeking to close The Cherry Pit.

I don't agree with the lifestyle but what adults do behind closed doors is really none of the governments business.

Why don't they leave these poor people alone? They're just exercising their freedom of PIECEable ASSembly, as is guaranteed by the 54th Amendment of our Constitution. Why don't the cops go chase down cupacabras or black panthers or Local Officials Convicted Of Indecent Exposure?
