Man Pleads Guilty In Case Of Strangled Texas Girl Save Email Print

(July 23, 2008)--A 22-year-old man has pleaded guilty to sodomy in a case involving a 15-year-old Texas girl who was strangled after an all-night party last summer in Oregon.

Shon Jerrod Estes had charges of sexual abuse and attempted rape dropped in exchange for his plea Tuesday in Clackamas County Circuit Court in Oregon.

Estes was sentenced to 45 days in jail, followed by 24 months of probation.

The state might call on Estes as a witness in the death of Dani Countryman, who was visiting relatives when her body was found at an apartment complex in a Portland suburb.

Alejandro Rivera Gamboa and his cousin Gilberto Javier Arellano are awaiting trial on charges of aggravated murder, attempted rape and attempted sexual abuse.

Detectives discovered during the homicide investigation that the teenager had been victimized even before her death.
