(July 24, 2008)—A Killeen woman was in a local hospital Thursday and her ex-husband, a Fort Hood soldier was in custody after a shooting Wednesday night at 2010 Ledgestone Dr. in Killeen that evidently stemmed from an argument over a child support check.
Officers arrested Pavy Phangnivong, 28, at the scene Wednesday night and recovered the weapon used in the shooting, police said.
He remained in the Killeen City Jail late Thursday morning.
Charges were pending.
Dalia Phangnivong, 27, of Killeen, was in stable condition Thursday at Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
She was shot once in the chest after what police described as a brief dispute after a friend drove her to her ex-husband’s house to pick up a child support check.
She was taken first to Metroplex Hospital in Killeen, and then was transferred to Scott & White.
Charges were pending late Thursday morning.
