Two Injured When Car Slams Into Rear Of Pickup Truck Save Email Print

A | A | A

(July 24, 2008)—A woman and a 44-year-old man were injured late Thursday afternoon when a passenger car slammed into the rear of a pickup truck whose driver was pulling off U.S. Highway 84 just outside of McGregor west of Waco.

The injured woman was driving the car.

She had to be extricated from the wreckage of the vehicle before she could be taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.

The 44-year-old man was riding in the truck.

His injuries were not believed to be serious, but he was also taken to Hillcrest.

Authorities said both vehicles were headed west on Highway 84 near the Trane Plant on the west side of McGregor when a suitcase fell out of the bed of the truck.

The injured man’s 23-year-old son said he was attempting to pull off the road when the car hit the rear of the pickup.

He was not hurt.

You people need get a hold of yourselves. I passed the scene of this accident. There was allot of stuff in the back of the truck, apparently it was not secure. He should have been more careful, and pulled of the highway instead of trying to stop there.

That was my friend driving the car. She was injured. No broken bones, thankfully but none the less, injured. Just thankful that no one was killed. By the look of the car it could have been worse. No kids were in the car.

There WAS someone in the back of the truck-that was the man transported to Hillcrest. it doesn't say that here but that is what happened. It's scary crazy that someone would stop in the Hwy like that.. We're all just thankful that no one was hurt more seriously.

If you were on 84 when happened you would know the man was in the bed of the truck holding down clothes that were flying everywhere. Before you call someone and IDIOT you need to get your facts straight. The young man was driving the truck and the older man was in the bed of the truck holding down not just a suitcase but clothes that were flying everywhere.

I can see this happening, yesterday while driving over the new bridge out by the market place a piece cardboad flew out of the back of a truck and across my windshield. They need to be more careful when there is stuff back there. Good thing they were not seriously hurt.

To Anonymous where does it say anyone was riding in the back of the truck? I see where it says they were in the truck and in the car and where a suitcase fell from the bed of the truck, but not that anyone was riding in the bed of a truck. Maybe you need to read this again.

Your the IDIOT.....learn to read! The man was not in the rear of the truck, a suitcase flew out of the bed of the truck. This all goes back to "know your facts before you open your mouth!"
