(August 01, 2008)—Police officers spotted and pulled over a man that resembled Kevin Greenwood, a man with a federal warrant for his arrest near the intersection North 30th Street in Waco.

When officers searched the vehicle, they found about 145 grams of marijuana, 40 grams of crack cocaine, and a sedative, codeine syrup, stored in a Styrofoam cup.

Waco Police say the quantity of crack cocaine found was a relatively large amount.

Greenwood was taken into custody and could face charges including Possession of a Controlled Substance: Crack-Cocaine, a second-degree felony and Possession of a Controlled Substance: Marijuana, a Class-B Misdemeanor as well as the charges in connection with the federal arrest warrant.

THIS POST IS TO MARLIN. I ALREADY KNOW WHO YOU ARE. I DID NOT ASK FOR ANYONE'S PITY AND I KNEW WHAT KIND OF LIFE HE LEAD AND HE KNEW IT TOO. IT TELLS WHAT KIND OF SMALL MINDED PERSON YOU ARE TO HURT THE PEOPLE THAT HE LEFT BEHIND TO READ THE MESS THAT YOU KEEP PUTTING ON THIS PAGE. MY BROTHER MADE A WRONG CHOICE IN LIFE AND IT WAS HIS CHOICE TO MAKE AND HE KNEW THE RESULTS IF HE GOT CAUGHT. MY MOTHER IS READING THE STUFF YOU ARE WRITING AND IT IS BAD ENOUGH THAT HER SON IS IN JAIL BUT SHE STILL LOVES HER SON. SO AGAIN I SAY IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO PRAY FOR HIS FAMILY THEN TO DO NOT RIGHT ANYTHING AT ALL. CRIMINAL OR NOT HE IS STILL MY BROTHER. I AM A VERY WISE WOMAN WISE ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT I DO NOT WANT TO BE A LOSER LIKE YOU TO HURT THE PEOPLE WHO HAS LOST A LOVE ONE.

Kevin's Sister, Why should anyone pity him? He knew what he was doing when he started this stuff. His family is going to left by him???? So sad, he SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT LONG AGO AND NOT BEEN A CRIMINAL. Okay, you love your brother....whoopy do! Does that make him any less of a bum? I don't think so. I will not allow a sister to accuse us of anything where it concerns this clown. He gets what he earned by dealing drugs and everything else he did. If he isn't a snitch he will be...there is NO HONOR AMONG CRIMINALS. Wise up woman, he's just another loser who got caught. Sucks to be him, but don't let it pull you down with him. Personally, I couldn't care less what happens to people like your brother! Society is now just that much better with him off the streets. I'm glad! The blame belongs on him, not on anyone else. If you don't understand that then you will just have to realise everyone else does know it and couldn't care less about your brother's future. HE screwed up!

Good point Diva!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Kevin's sister Location: It don't matter on Aug 8, 2008 at 11:31 PM
My brother is not a snitch. He will do life before he snitch on anyone. SO YOU'LL STOP HATING ON HIM. Kevin was someone's son, brother, father, friend, husband or whatever he was to people. How bout you'll stop hating on him and pray for the people he left behind. Now he chose to live the life he lead and no one is asking for your sympathy but I AM NOT GOING TO LET YOU TALK ABOUT MY BROTHER LIKE THIS. I LOVE MY BROTHER NO MATTER WHAT HE HAS DONE OR WHAT HE WILL DO IN HIS FUTURE THAT IS STILL MY BROTHER. SO IF YOUR NOT GOING TO PRAY FOR HIS FAMILY THAT HE LEFT BEHIND OR TAKE CARE OF KIDS THAT WILL HAVE NOT HAVE A FATHER FOR WHATEVER TIME HE WILL GET THEN I SUGGEST THAT YOU DO NOT SAY ANYTHING AT ALL.

Wow baggy jeans and a wife beater does not make you a thug.Drugs come from a white man in a dressed up suit who distributes it everywhere but is not called a thug. How many black people do you know who live across the border or country where cocaine is transported. It is owned by rich white men that you dont call thugs.

Profiling, racial or otherwise is just smart. Look like a duck, smells like a duck and quacks like a duck....dont be shocked when you find out its a duck!! If a person who was 6' tall 200lbs with blonde hair and blue eyes had just robbed a bank, I would not be shocked to get pulled over. Look like a thug, dress like a thug, act like a thug, there is a good chance you'll get treated like one. Get off of the PD's back. There are 99.9% of them out there every day doing everything they can to keep us safe. They cant be everywhere at all times. Heck, if they were some of you would be complaining about that too.

Posted by: Mike Location: Waco on Aug 5, 2008 at 12:40 PM
Well said Chris D. It was just a few days ago peolple were bashing the PD for the hooker roundup and now its the drugs. Just no pleasing those people.

I love how people think the pd isn't doing their job. The only reason this made news is because it was federal warrants. What about all the people that officers arrest that have felony warrants? Or the people that beat on their spouse or kids? There is no racial profiling. Believe it or not, officers actually look for people with warrants no matter what their race. If you think that the police department or their officers don't do their job, look at the arrest statistics. If the citizens of Waco knew how much crime happened in this city, they would push the city council to hire more officers. This is just a small example of what the very good officers that work in Waco do on a daily basis.

Whoever says Waco is a dangerous (or scary) place to live needs to get around more. I would much rather walk through the streets of Waco at night than in many other cities and in DC you DONT walk through the streets at night.

Posted by: Chris D Location: Chaulk Bluff on Aug 5, 2008 at 08:54 AM
Whoa, guys!! Before we get any further, this was not a racial profiling case. The cops assigned to patrol that area had been told to look out for the guy due to federal warrants. They knew who they were after, the guy just had to bad luck to be holding when they got him. It wasn't a random stop. If he would have been a little smarter and not been riding that dirty, at that hour, with warrants, he might not be in this mess. As far as racial profiling, it's no different than hunting or fishing. If you know what kind of lure, bait, or call gets you a bite, then by all means use your knowlege to increase your chances of catching that prize trophy. It would be stupid not to. And if your game happens to be drug dealers or gangstas, then you gotta use those guidelines to increase effectiveness.

To Will from Waco. Why should Waco PD not profile? Almost everytime that you here of Waco PD arresting somebody, the description is always the same. "Black Male, Wearing as 'Wife Beater' shirt, and baggy pants/shorts." If I worked for Waco PD, I think that every person I saw with that description, I would have to stop them. I bet not a single one of them would be up to any good. I say arrest them all. You hardly ever hear on the News "Man arrested, dressed profesionally." Also everytime you see a mug shot, it looks like the same scum. All of them have the "I am too much of a Bad A$$ to take this picture look." I say GO WACO PD. Arrest them all.

Posted by: Will Location: Waco on Aug 4, 2008 at 02:42 PM
Wow, wacoPD did they're job for a change, now think about all the times they stop a black man to say he "looked" like some one else and find out it's not him. Racial profiling finally paid off.....

Posted by: me Location: work on Aug 4, 2008 at 12:58 PM
wacopd still sucks, if they were so great Waco wouldn't be such a scary place to live. Wow they finally did their job, way to go, maybe we can get some more of this work out of them another time.

Where are all the Waco PD bashers now? The ones that (always) comment how the police never focus on real crimes...drug dealers being one? A big oopps, huh? Anyway, good job WPD!

GOOD!!!! What goes around comes around; Now who you gonna snitch on KEVIN. They got you after using you like a TOOL. Thanks Waco Police for doing a GREAT JOB.Keep up the good work. Now get his Boys too.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 3, 2008 at 10:14 AM
It's awesome that they caught them. I have family that live near that area so the drug dealers don't need to be attempting to destroy that neighborhood. However, I just hope they don't begin to STEREOTYPE anyone and believe everyone they see that resembles these thugs are criminals as well. To live in that area means you're doing pretty good for yourself but it doesn't mean you obtained it all illegally. Some people actually still get up and go to work...please don't begin to stereotype!

Keep up the good work waco Pd
