Defense Contractor KBR Bans Personal Cell Phones In Iraq
Defense contractor KBR Inc. said it has banned the use of personal cell phones by its employees in Iraq for security reasons.

KBR spokeswoman Heather L. Browne confirmed the company has notified its employees in Iraq that use of personal cell phones is prohibited. Browne said the decision was because of "a safety and security concern." She declined to elaborate, but did say KBR officials are reviewing the matter that led to the directive.

my brother donald e tolfree jr was killed by the u.s.army in balad iraq if he had a cell phone he could have called the base camp anaconda and told them he was returning after being placed in the wrong convoy!

My husband has held three positions while working for KBR and is working for them now. Each position has provided support to the military. He works and/or services our troops as needed and enjoys it. He used to text me at his previous location to let me know a phone line was clear so I could call him (saves money). The location he's at now has no cell connection and that's perfectly fine. We've had no problems communicating by phone or email. Safety comes first. If banning the cell phones keep our loved ones safe, then so be it. We're grateful for KBR. Not everyone can get a job at the drop of a hat in this area and KBR has given us an opportunity to get rid of cc debt. If all goes well, we'll breathe a little easier when he comes home to work for $8 per hr (hopefully). This may not work for all folks, but it was an option that is working well for us.

Hey General/Ft. Hood, KBR is there for one reason only money. KBR should be removed, as well as CACI. I have done my research, I am not ignorant nor a liberal. I am an American with family military history. This is about Profit, KBR is not there out of loyalty, or for a higher purpose.
