Bond Is $1.5 Million For Man Charged In Ex-Wife’s Shooting Death

A 47-year-old man charged in the shooting death of his ex-wife, who was gunned down outside her home, was held in lieu of $1.5 million bond Monday.

MADISONVILLE (June 9, 2014) Jose Martinez, 47, was in the Madison County Jail Monday, charged with murder in the shooting death of his ex-wife Angelina Martinez, 44, who was gunned down Sunday night in front of her home in Madisonville.

His bond was set at $1.5 million.

Angelina Martinez was shot repeatedly at around 7:25 p.m. Sunday outside her home in the 700 block of East Morris St., KBTX-TV reported.

Martinez was arrested a short time later in the 3000 block of Highway 75 after crashing his car.

He was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan before he was booked into jail, KBTX reported.
