Man Killed In Collision With 18-Wheeler On I-35 Identified

Authorities Friday identified the Central Texas man who died early Thursday morning in a collision between his SUV and an 18-wheeler on Interstate 35.

ELM MOTT (July 25, 2014) Authorities Friday identified the man who died early Thursday morning in a collision between his SUV and an 18-wheeler on Interstate 35 as Johnnie Rudolph Krizan, 66, of West.

Krizan was driving his 2000 Chevrolet Blazer south on the Interstate at around 5:30 a.m. Thursday when the SUV glanced off a concrete wall and veered into the path of the 18-wheeler, Department of Public Safety Trooper D.L. Wilson said Friday.

The driver of the 18-wheeler could not have avoided the SUV, Wilson said.

Services for Krizan will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the West Brethren Church.

Burial will follow at West Brethren Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West.

Krizan was a West High School graduate who received a bachelor’s degree in business from Baylor University.

He worked as a corporate clerk for 35 years at the United States Postal Service in Waco.
