(August 13, 2008)-- The common-law wife of former Little River-Academy area youth baseball coach William Thomas Jacobsen, 31, who’s the focus of a child sexual abuse investigation that involves at least four victims, was in custody in Wednesday in Central Texas while U.S. Marshals continue to question Jacobsen in Laredo.
Mexican police arrested Jacobsen and Marilyn Wesson, 57, on Saturday in Nuevo Laredo as the couple walked their dog.
State of Tamaulipas Police turned the two over to the U.S. Marshals in Laredo.
Wesson was transferred to Bell County on Tuesday, authorities said Wednesday.
The arrest came just more than a week after investigators revealed that Wesson appeared in a surveillance video from a Laredo pawnshop and that the couple’s 1996 green Ford Explorer appeared in a surveillance video on the Texas-Mexico border.
The couple had been observed with their mixed breed dog, Shasta, investigators said.
Initially investigators thought the couple had fled to the Galveston area, but the videos confirmed suspicions that Jacobsen and Wesson were in Mexico.
Wesson was named in a felony arrest warrant charging hindering apprehension.
The warrant naming Jacobsen stems from an investigation that started on June 10 when deputies were sent to Scott & White Hospital in response to a report that a youth baseball coach had sexually assaulted a 13-year-old boy.
The boy told investigators the sexual assaults started about a year ago and said the latest occurred in early June.
At least three other possible victims have since been identified.
Jacobsen was relieved of his coaching duties after deputies advised the Little River-Academy Youth Baseball League about the investigation.
He was also relieved of his duties as a volunteer firefighter, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The U.S. Marshal’s Service joined the search for the couple in early July.

Jacobsen, who was also a member of the Little River-Academy Volunteer Fire Department, lives in Rogers, but authorities think he and his wife fled the area on June 21.
