Man Arrested In Alleged Sexual Assault Of Texas Teenager Save Email Print

A | A | A

(August 13, 2008)--A Grand Island, Neb. man has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a teenage girl whom he met on a social networking Web site and took from Austin to Nebraska.

Nebraska State Patrol and Grand Island officers arrested David PeIna, 23, on Tuesday.

They also took the 15-year-old girl into protective custody and seized a computer and other evidence.

PeIna was jailed on a charge of first-degree sexual assault.

Authorities say PeIna met the teenager on the social networking Web site, and then traveled to Austin, where he picked her up and took her to Nebraska.

On Monday, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted troopers in the State Patrol unit that investigates Internet crimes against children.

I second what Kim in Ft Hood said. The way things work here in our home is that there are 2 computers side by side. My children are not allowed on the computer unless I am working at my computer or at my desk right next to them. As far as lying about age, there is a young man in my family that this very thing happened to. He met this girl that looked and acted very much of age, even had little stories about her "grown up" life to tell and he trusted her. Then he wanted to meet her parents and after a while demanded to meet them, worst mistake he ever made. They shed the light on her true age and filed charges against him, only to later realize she was as much at fault and tried to help him. By this time it was too late and he has to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. Too many little girls are ruining the lives of people trying to act and be older and to these little girls, "you will be grown before you know it, so enjoy your age while you can".

Yes, lets keep it to yourself and blame the perverted child molester, instead of the parents. The only way a 15 year old can be monitor 24-7 is know as false imprisonment.

While what he did was wrong, I blame the parents too, teenagers are always going on these sites, lying about their age, having unappropriate pics of themselves. If parents would just monitor what their children are doing, where they are going online, this sort of thing would not happen. That is just my opinion and I am entitled to it.
