(August 14, 2008)--A 43-year-old East Texas woman playing nickel slots won nearly $2.2 million at the Eldorado Resort Casino in Shreveport, La.

Casino officials Thursday identified the winner as Melissa Gail Ray of Jacksonville.

Ray won the $2,158,363 statewide progressive MegaJackpot on a Wheel of Fortune machine Wednesday.

Ray says she plans to continue working as an air conditioning brazier and will put her winnings toward paying off her car and other debts.

On April 9, Roberto Montalvo of Premont, Texas won $1.29 million playing the slot.

Earlier this year, another guest won a $359,000 jackpot and in 2007, two other guests won $1.6 million and $2.3 million jackpots, the casino said.
