Missing Texas College Student Found In California Classroom
A former Rice University student who disappeared in December was under arrest Thursday after turning up in a classroom at the University of California.

(August 14, 2008)--A former Rice University student who was reported missing in December in Houston was under arrest Thursday after police found him in a classroom at the University of California at Berkeley.

Campus police spotted Matthew J. Wilson, 21, Wednesday night sitting in a classroom using a laptop computer hooked up to a video utility box.

Wilson at first gave police a false name.

Police were questioning him about possession of stolen property.

Wilson, a 21-year-old computer science major from Haworth, Okla., disappeared from his off-campus apartment near Rice University in December.

He was last seem by his roommate on Dec. 14.

Police found Wilson's car on June 10 in Berkeley.

Inside police found books on assuming a new identity and low-cost living in San Francisco.

"We're very happy and relieved to hear that Matthew is alive," said Rice University Police Chief Bill Taylor.

Taylor notified Wilson's mother about the news from Berkeley, according to a posting on the university’s Web site.

The posting said Wilson is no longer enrolled at the university.

this story is curious, to say the least. Was he enrolled there, or just there? If he was not enrolled to attend class on campus, why was he there? Huge security problem, goes on to a campus, pretends to be a student. HMMMMMMMMM..............
