(August 18, 2008)—Four men and a juvenile were arrested after someone in a pickup truck opened fire on a car in the parking lot of the Central Texas Marketplace just off Interstate 35 in Waco, sending one to the hospital

Vicente Garcia, 23 of Bellmead, Daniel Hernandez Delacruz, 21 of Waco, Valente Jimenez Delacruz, 17 of Waco and Jose Cruz Garcia, 18 of Bellmead were arrested Sunday.

Officers also arrested a 15-year-old, police said.

The arrests came after police received several 911 calls around 7:40 p.m. Sunday reporting that the occupants of a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck were firing at the occupants of a Pontiac Grand-Am in the parking lot of the shopping center, near the Kohl’s and Zale’s stores.

Witnesses told officers three shots were fired, police said Monday.

Angel Oballe, an occupant of the car, was shot in the left side of his face and lower back, police said.

He was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center with what police said were non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers arrested the five without incident after stopping the truck at Loop 340 and West Waco Drive, police said.

Nathali, other area stations have reported that 3 of the 4 fine gentlemen here (sarcasm meant)are in fact being held on immigration charges. That means they are "illegal". Get a clue.

Why send them back to Mexico when we all know that in a couple of months they will be back over here doing the same things again. Send them to jail and make them pay here. Oh one more thing just because they are Hispanics that does not mean that they are illegal’s.

TO: Please - I am not happy about supporting and give free health care to illegal aliens either. It is a waste of taxpayer money on those that do not and never will pay any taxes. On the other hand though, I truely feel that the healthier the people around me are, the healthier I will remain. In other words, since they are here anyway, we need to do what we can to stop the spread of diseases.

Dear Maria, we as Texans want to keep the better life we used to have when these illegals weren't here. It isn't the good old days when illegals came to work. They come to kill, steal and destroy. So you have to enforce the law and make them all leave or come over legally. That is the only solution. Anyone have a better one?

In my opinion anyone showing up to the hospital proven to be illegal should be denied treatment. No insurance...no hospital. Comprende?

Who is running this state? When are our people going to say enough of this BS? I saw the post of no one could believe how much crime Waco really has. These punks from Mexico need to first serve jail time to pay for their ticket home and ban them forever from the US and automatically go to the pen if caught once in the US. Either that or let's all pack up and move to Mexico and take that country over. Wonder how that would go over? Those who hire them need to get shipped to Mexico along with them. Deportation by law enforcement works. Look at Oklahoma, Arizona etc. If they can't find jobs or places to live they self deport. Who says we can't deport them all? Public hangings would certainly be a deterrent... they don't appear to fear jail, prison and/or deprortation (because our borders are so wide open that they can easily run back across), else they wouldn't be so bold in their criminal activities.

If they get deported they will come back. The best thing would be to lock them up or take them out back and shoot them. The reality is that there are several more out there to take their places. What happened to good ol' Bellmead? It used to be a nice place until the illegals took it over.

I am glad you caught Vicente aka Choclate he has threatened my dughter for over a year he is a big bully he beat on my daugher and my grandkids hid her from me the we had to move from our home town to be safe! I put warnings against him but he didnt care he always told people about his close friend Officer O'Connor who ever that is thats why people didnt go to the police He stole from people he beat them up he treatened to kill people so you have him keep hime so my daughter my grand kids my other kids and i dont have to live in fear!! here that state Senator and INS and DA keep him and then after time served send him back and his family from bellmead last year his 15 yr old brother and freinds were caught with guns and drugs but they are still on the street as well whats up with that you have no insurance and tickets they keep you locked up longer, no bond you have drugs and shoot some one or illegal you get bond dont understand out system give me a 1-800 number or local Ill call

It scares me to let my kids even go to the grocery story. Waco seems to be going down over the years. I remember being rasied here and not hearing about all of this when I was young. Now, the streets that my mom used to let me and my brother and sister run around and play in isn't even safe for me to let my kids play. Parents need to watch their kids a little closer and start teaching some values. This is rediculous.

There was a time, not so long ago, that it didn't bother me to drive to Waco anytime day or night, to go shoppimg. I prefered to shop at Walmart late at night because it wasn't as busy, but now I only go during the day. I wonder if that is even safe!

I drove through the Marketplace early Saturday evening and noticed that the parking lot along the highway near Books was full of cars of kids just hanging out. Maybe that is where this kind of thing started out. It almost scared me to drive by it.

In a open parking lot were bystanders could have gotten hurt. What is this world coming to they can't solve problems without gun know days, and these older adults, getting our younger teens involved ruining their lives. Were are the parents of these kids know days, too involved in their lives to worry about their Kids. I just hope they give the max to all of them even the teen.
