Autopsy Ordered In Death Of Central Texas Jail Inmate

(May 1, 2006)—An autopsy was ordered Monday after an inmate was found dead in a holding cell at the Milam County Jail.

Milam County Sheriff Charlie West asked the Texas Rangers to conduct an independent investigation of the death of Ricky Dale Shaw, 46, of Cameron.

A jailer found Shaw dead in the holding cell at about 5:30 a.m. Monday while making regular rounds.

Shaw had been in custody since April 21 on a DWI charge and parole violation.
