MARLIN (August 28, 2014) Marlin and Lott police and Falls County deputies were searching for a driver who eluded late Wednesday them after a high speed chase through Falls County.

Marlin police reported to the Falls County Sheriff’s Office that they were involved in a high speed pursuit with a red Chevrolet Equinox at about 10 p.m. and were leaving the city limits on State Highway 7 traveling west.

The driver turned off SH 7 onto Farm-to-Market Road 320, toward Lott, as police and deputies pursued, sometimes at speeds exceeding 100 miler-per-hour, Falls County Chief Deputy Kenneth Vanek said.

The fleeing driver turned onto Cedar Springs Road and shortly thereafter onto a gravel road.

Pursuers broke off the chase at that point, Vanek said.

It was not known Thursday morning why the driver was being pursued, Vanek said.

No one was reported injured
