ROCKDALE (September 2, 2014) Rockdale police on Tuesday were investigating what they said they believed is a murder-suicide that left two dead and a third person injured.

Police were sent at around 6 a.m. Tuesday to an address in the 1700 block of Murray Avenue where the first officers on the scene immediately found Ravanique Newsome, 27, suffering massive head and facial trauma.

Within a very short time they also found Deidreer Coleman Fowler, 48, and John Keith Andrus, 52, both dead of gunshot wounds to the head.

Fowler also had a gunshot wound in the abdomen, Rockdale police Chief Thomas Harris said in a Tuesday news release.

Newsome was taken by ambulance to Baylor Scott and White Medical Center, in Temple, for treatment, Harris said.

Harris said Newsome was listed in stable condition in the surgical intensive care unit on Tuesday afternoon.

Milam County Justice of the Peace Gary Northcott pronounced both men dead at the scene and ordered their bodies taken for autopsy.
