(August 25, 2008)—The Mexican drug war could cross the border after warring drug cartels gave hit men permission to enter the United States to kill their targets, according to warnings that U.S. authorities have received.

Police and federal agents told The Associated Press about the warnings Monday, and officials along the border are beefing up security.

El Paso spokesman Officer Chris Mears says authorities learned of the threat last week.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Border Patrol officers have also been told about the threat and have ramped up security at border crossings.

Drug cartel violence has claimed thousands of lives across Mexico this year.

Nearly 800 people have been killed this year in Ciudad Juarez, a hard-scrabbled city of about 1.3 million people across the Rio Grande from El Paso.

Border problems are easy to fix, firts stop doing drugs so drug cartels wont have customers to sell their drugs, second get people to do the work inmigrants do the point is nobody is willing to do it . we need to stop blaming the goverment for everything,if they deport the criminals gansters, drug dealers but what we see is goverment going to factories to deport people that is working, while the criminals are on the street anyway ilegals aport more than what some of them get from welfare. if you want to make this country better, stop using drugs so they dont make money and stop looking for excuses all we need to do is serve tables at restaurants, work at construction sites, and factories just do what 90% of people is not doing, maybe we can have a better country when we do what illegals are doing them we probably see a change. are you willing to do it?

border problem is very simple, use eminent domain to obtain a 1 mile wide stip of texas land at the border, then turn over the land to the military as a live firing range, tanks, missiles, artillery, everything. it would slow the flow of those traveling through the rural areas

RE: Me Location: Central Texas "Oh... wait... I should be more politically correct, these "people" are only coming here to better their lives (at the expense of ours), and we should turn a blind eye to it."....That is exactly what our governor Rick Perry is doing!
