The National Weather Service has issued a RED FLAG WARNING in effect until 6 pm for Bell, Bosque, Coryell, Falls, Freestone, Hamilton, Hill, Lampasas, Leon, Limestone, McLennan, Milam, Mills, Navarro, Robertson, and Williamson counties in Central Texas. The combination of strong south winds, low relative humidity, and dry vegetation will create an extreme danger for grass fires across Central Texas this afternoon.

(August 27, 2008)--Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal declared a state emergency Wednesday in advance of Gustav, which was a tropical storm Wednesday evening, but could crash ashore on the Gulf Coast sometime over the Labor Day weekend as a Category Three hurricane.

It has already killed at least 22 people in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Wednesday the hurricane was headed toward Cuba.

It’s on a track pointing toward the U.S. Gulf coast, including Louisiana and Mississippi, where Hurricane Katrina struck three years ago Friday.

It's expected to pass between Jamaica and the southeastern coast of Cuba Thursday.

They wont leave. It is another chance to pillage and rob to get TV's with no where to plug them in. During Katrina these people lost their homes and were stealing TV's for crying out loud!!! I agree....send them in anohter direction this time. i'm tired of supporting New Orleans bums. 3 year later and they still want free rent and government money to live on. Pitiful. They want their FEMA cards ahead of time now.

Oh no, the town of chocolate will melt! That is what the mayor of new orleans wanted to build. Said so on t.v., a town of chocolate! Will, if it hits, please go east not west, with all your thugs and theives! You are not welcome! Open our hands out to help and all you did was bite the hand. Opened our hearts out and all you did was break it. Stay out, "DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS".

I guess we will be hearing how this storm is the federal gov fault and will be hearing about it for years.

I hope these people listen and get out this time, it's not worth staying if you know it's going to hit the gulf again. If they decide to stay my god be with you and yor family and keep you safe. We spent billions after Katrina and the goverment is still paying for that hope they are better perpared this time around if it does hit a category 3. Please leave and take what ever you can with you.
