(August 28, 2008)—Two workers were injured Thursday when a crane being used to lower a length of heavy pipe toppled at a water pumping station on the Trinity River in Dallas.
Dallas Fire Rescue spokeswoman Sherrie Lopez told KRLD-AM of Dallas that a city contract crew was lowering a new pump, consisting of the pipe, to the roof of the pumping station about 10 a.m. Thursday when it pulled the crane arm to the ground.
Both workers were taken to Dallas hospitals.
Lopez said the worker in the truck crushed by the pipe had a head injury, while the worker on the roof suffered two broken legs.
